Systems Engineer

SUMMARY:

System level electrical design. Work from requirements specifications to create complete system schematics, identify and select system components including power systems, motor drives, computers and computer peripherals. Will work with other engineers to complete harness and cable drawings. Participate in prototype assembly, troubleshooting, and test. Must be knowledgeable about UL/CSA/CE for medical devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate detailed system level electrical schematics.
  • Identify, select, qualify system level electrical components: sensors, connectors
  • Design harnesses and cables
  • Participate in prototype assembly, troubleshooting, test.
  • Participate in UL/CSA/CE testing
  • Interface with other engineers including mechanical design, S/W development, electronic design, and physics.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the design and development of equipment or systems.
  • Background knowledge of medical X-Ray devices and high voltage power supplies is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
  • Experience with MS Office including Word and Excel
  • PLC programming.

Image Processing Scientist/Engineer

SUMMARY:

The job involves the development of advanced imaging and image processing/recognition algorithms. The ability to analyze the imaging system in detail for the selection/development of appropriate algorithms will be highly valued.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful applicant will be assigned to any one of the following tasks:

  • Image reconstruction for both CT systems and tomographic systems using iterative reconstruction methods
  • Pre-processing algorithms to correct image data prior to reconstruction
  • Applications software for analysis of cardiac images and for radiotherapy treatment planning
  • Development of advanced 3-D volume rendering and visualization workstations,
  • Interface development for control of medical imaging and therapy systems
  • Assist in the development of related grants and proposals and
  • Present/publish papers in conferences and journals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Recent degree in engineering, physics, or math, preferably a Ph.D. (B.S./M.S also acceptable).

Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas:

  • Application programming
  • Statistical image/signal processing
  • X-ray and CT physics.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Programming knowledge in C++, C# and Matlab.

Mechanical Engineer

LOCATIONS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design mechanical components of complex medical imaging systems utilizing scanning X-Ray sources and detectors.

You will plan and schedule mechanical engineering designs, producing cost-effective quality products.

Responsible for design decisions, building, testing and evaluating prototypes and bringing designs to production.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

Degree in ME and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the medical equipment or instrumentation.

Knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD design of formed and sheet metal, DFM, materials compatibility and stress analysis.

Electrical Engineer, Analog/Digital

Locations:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing, testing, documentation and implementation of real-time hardware and firmware for proprietary X-Ray systems
  • Design, Develop and Test new mixed signal boards
  • System integration of new designs
  • Subsystem architecture, board design, schematic capture, layout and route
  • Design documentation from concept through production, including Interface Document, Theory of Operation, Test Plans, BOM, Schedules, Specifications
  • Work with Fabrication and Assembly vendors

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 3+ years analog hardware design
  • 2+ years in digital systems design & integration
  • Power Analog Interfaces,
  • Very High Speed Analog and Digital Circuit Board Design
  • Working knowledge of high voltage power supplies and ionizing radiation

Principal Physicist

Locations:

SUMMARY:

Plans, conducts and directs engineering research, design and development projects of major significance, which are highly difficult and complex in nature necessitating the expert application of advanced engineering knowledge and experience. Originates and applies new and unique engineering methods and procedures; designs and develops special equipment; supplies technical advise and counsel to other professionals. Generally operates with wide latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. Some travel required. Passport and ability to travel overseas a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree in Physics or Engineering. PhD’s Degree preferred. Ten (10) years experience in the analysis, evaluation, design and development of equipment or systems. Profound knowledge of X-Ray physics, nuclear physics, detectors. High Voltage, electron beam optics, vacuum and tomography expertise are desirable. Experience in physics aspects of system design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceives, plans, and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity. Collaborates in preliminary and advanced design studies and prepares technical portion of proposals.
  • Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Interfaces with other disciplines (imaging scientists, software, electrical and mechanical engineers) to develop applied solutions to problems. Designs devices and systems to meet abstract requirements.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Writes major portion of complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advance studies, special engineering investigations and similar activities.
  • Performs various administrative and supervisory functions including budget responsibility, scheduling, conferences, and preparation of proposal and bids.
  • Coordinates the work of lower level employees, and supervises their development.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in specialty area and a good working knowledge of principles and practice of related specialties. Excellent analytical skills required. Will develop, analyze and simulate new concepts. Research, debug and analyze images produced by X-ray/neutron scanners.

Senior/Principal Analog Design Engineer
