Douglas P. Boyd, Ph.D.

Mr. Boyd is an internationally recognized physicist who has pioneered in the fields of Medical Imaging and Airport Security Imaging. While at Stanford University, he conceived the first fan-beam, rotary Computed Tomography scanners using Xenon detector arrays, which became the standard in the industry for 20 years. Dr. Boyd developed the first scanning electron beam CT scanner (EBCT) and later founded Imatron, inc. which commercialized EBCT and was the leader in cardiac CT imaging for 20 years until sold to General Electric in 2001.
Dr. Boyd founded Invision, inc., the only certified Explosives Detection System (EDSS) in airports for many years, and due to his work was awarded the Conway Safe Skies Award in 1993. In 2008, he founded TeleSecurity Sciences, inc. to help introduce the next level of explosives detection technology. Dr. Boyd has also served on the boards of several small innovative high-tech companies, published more than 100 technical papers, and has been awarded 26 U.S. patents.
Samuel M. Song, Ph.D.
Chief Operating Officer & Board of Directors
Mr. Song received the Scientiae Baccalaureus, MS, and Ph.D. degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California, respectively, all in Electrical Engineering. He has over twenty-five years of industrial and academic research and development experience in imaging and image processing systems.
Dr. Song has served on the faculty of the Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco, and on the faculty of the School of Electrical Engineering at Korea University, Seoul, Korea. Most recently, he served on the faculty of the College of Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, as an Associate and Full Professor. He has published over a hundred scientific papers in international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Song holds several US patents and has several others pending. Dr. Song is a founding investor and director of TeleSecurity Sciences.
Vitaliy Ziskin, Ph.D.
Vice President of Research and Development
Dr. Vitaliy Ziskin has graduated from MIT with a degree in Physics in 2005. In 2007 Dr. Ziskin has moved from academic research to industrial R&D. Over the past fifteen years Dr. Ziskin has demonstrated a proven track record of innovation in the field of medical and security X-ray devices, imaging and detection algorithms, and signal processing. Dr. Ziskin was awarded multiple patents and has authored numerous scientific papers. Dr. Ziskin has joined Imatrex in 2018 as a Vice-President of Research and Development and is the project manager for the DSEBCT prototype development.
Michael D. Weil, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer & Board of Directors for Precision RT, Inc.
Dr. Weil is a developer of low-cost, healthcare devices for under-served regions, and an innovator in low-energy, x-ray therapy of advanced cancers. He is a founder of Sirius Medicine, which licensed kilovoltage (kV) x-rayoptics to Siemens, and developed clinically validated, kVx-ray therapeutics, including contrast-enhanced radiotherapy (CERT), and radiation-based immunotherapy. He conducted the first clinical trials of kV radiosurgery, as well as kV-based immunotherapy, and has performed over 200 such procedures on patients. Dr. Weil has served on the faculty of the Departments of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Colorado. He has been the author and principal investigator of a dozen submitted clinical oncology trials. Dr. Weil holds five U.S. patents and several others pending.
Bernard M. Gordon
Board of Directors
Mr. Gordon is a preeminent engineer and inventor. He holds more than 100 U.S.patents, many more worldwide, for breakthrough technologies including those related to analog to digital conversion, instant imaging CT scanning, the fetal heart monitor, and digital Doppler radar. He has often been called the “father” of modern analog-to-digital conversion for his many contributions to the communication and medical instrumentation technologies that help enrich our lives. He was awarded the National Medal of Technology by President Reagan in 1986, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1991, and has received several honorary degrees. He has provided active leadership on several boards in the engineering, healthcare, and education areas. He is the former President and co-founder of Analogic Corporation, and founder and Chairman of the Board of Photo Diagnostic Systems, Inc., a leading company in the PET imaging market and a partner with Telesecurity Sciences in the development of new CT scanning equipment. He remains an active entrepreneurial innovator. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Lahey Clinic and Tufts University.
Tai-Nang Huang, Ph.D.
Senior Executive Advisor to Imatrex & Chairman of the Board for Precision RT, Inc.
Dr. Huang founded Linden Technologies, Inc. in 2000 and serves as its CEO and President up to the present day. Dr. Huang worked for Roche Pharmaceuticals as Sr. Research Leader and later joined a biotech start-up as President of the company in Boston. He has invented and commercialized popular consumable research devices to serve pharmaceutical and biotech industries for drug research. He serves on the Board of Directors at Pyrexar Medical, Inc., which manufactures focused phase-array hyperthermia medical systems for cancer treatments. Dr. Huang co-founded Precision RT, Inc. with Imatrex and Sirius Medicine in 2016 to develop image-guided KV radiotherapy system, LCRS.
Hui Hu, Ph.D.
Mr. Hu has over thirty years of experience in the medical imaging industry, particularly in multinational, midsize, and startup companies. He was a Senior Physicist at GE Healthcare, where he designed several GE flagship products, including the LightSpeed (multi-slice ) CT scanner, and received numerous awards. He is the Founder, President, and CEO of Hinnovation, which was acquired by a Nasdaq listed company (Vital Images) in 2004. Since then, he has been entrepreneurs and investors of several innovative startups in both the US and China. Dr. Hu has published extensively in world-class journals; two of his publications on multi-slice CT have been cited over 1400 times. Dr. Hu is an inventor of over forty US patents.
